From Toddler to Teen...Summer Dreamin'

Pictureouroboros...full circle of life
It's halfway through summer (already!!), and my teacher mind is spinning with enthusiasm and ideas for next school year... Chemistry labs, painting, greenhouse salad gardens, fitness instruction, a whirlwind playfest for the students muse of a "Hobbit of the Ring in the Takilma Shire" production, a trip to our state capital....oh my!

Today is Iosefa's 9 months in, 9 months out birthday. As I celebrate with my son, I dream about the Secondary Program and how important it is for our community. My dream is to have a place at the Dome School for all ages to learn, play and grow together. Full circle. Now the Dome School has had a program for Middle and High Schoolers for 2 years. And, of course, we recently celebrated 40 years as a successful private school for Preschool-Elementary!

And for another success story of late to celebrate... We moved into our *new classrooms* for Preschool, Kindergarten and Elementary last year! Which not only made those kiddos and teachers so happy, but also opened up our big community room for... our community to use. I'm overjoyed seeing wonderful adult classes flow into the space, like Zumba, sculpture, dance, music and beyond...

And back to celebrating Iosefa, my first born son, who is 9 months old today. Let's put our minds together and discover a way to give space to babies at our school! A baby play parent cooperative? An official Toddlers n Wobblers group? I imagine he will be one of the many "born and raised Dome School" children.

Signing off for now,
with a full heart and an energetic mind,

-Kimiko
