Mission statementOur program strives to be highly individualized, helping students meet their personal goals and put their hobbies and passions to practice! This individualized curriculum alongside a strong emphasis on community mindfulness, creativity, sciences, and the arts, makes our school a platform for self expression and personal successes. The Secondary program’s mission is to help students develop a strong sense of self, lifelong camaraderie and a love of learning. |
Student quotes taken from Open House speeches in May 2018, as they reflect on their experience at the Dome SchoolLions should be pink. While this is very irrelevant to the subject, it is true. The Dome School offers a challenging twist on the traditional learning that promotes creative thinking and eccentric personality.” I like the Dome School because they make school fun. I actually like coming to school every day. I have learned so much this year. I’m really happy I did the Secondary program. I’ve gone to this school since second grade and am so happy that I did.” |
I like the Dome School because everyone here has a whole lot of nice, just a splash of evil, a bit of crazy, a lot of funny and a pinch of weird. When you get all of those things and put them together you get a family.” I have been going here since the fourth grade and my favorite thing about Dome School has always been the interesting things that we learn. I am excited that I can keep going to this school now that we have the Secondary program.” I’ve gone to this school for just about my whole life. This school is kinda like a third home to me. When I graduated from the Dome School in 5th grade I tried going to public school. It was nerve racking. I mean, I was excited to ride the bus but that got old due to having to get up at 6am every morning and the food was terrible. I love the Dome School because, well, for one they’ve got good food here and you don’t have to get up at 6 o clock in the morning. And my friends—they are the main reason I love being here.” At the Dome School, with our wonderful teachers, they have exposed us with the very best of the best—with knowledge, education and the best experiences you could hope for!” |
This school is like no other. We have more freedom and fun compared to other schools. This school has teachers that care about us like family and family will never stop trying to help.” I have been at the Dome School for 5 years now, which shows how engaging it is. After 6th grade I would have moved on to either homeschooling or Lorna Byrne, neither of which was the good choice for me. But, in a stroke of good luck, the Secondary program was formed that year. We are a tight knit group who should be more grateful for our dedicated teachers and the chance to be in this program.” This year we have had a very productive learning environment. We read two books on the Revolutionary War and the play The Crucible. We are now finishing up in our math books. What is great is that we have learned so much while having fun!” |
